Since 1993, MAC PARA has designed and built paragliders, paramotor wings, harnesses and rescue parachutes in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Czech Republic. A brand born with modern paragliding, still faithful to one simple idea: a wing has succeeded when it leaves your mind free.
“Fly in Peace” is not a tagline
It is the specification the whole company works to. At MAC PARA a wing is only signed off once it brings together the four qualities Petr Recek refuses to trade against one another: handling, performance, safety and comfort. Nothing is sacrificed to the data sheet — progress is measured by the confidence a pilot feels in the air, not by sink rate alone. Hence the MAC PARA signature: honest, straightforward, predictable handling that leaves your head free to fly. Flying in peace, quite literally.
A brand from the very beginning, never interrupted
The 1980s and 1990s produced dozens of paragliding brands. Most have disappeared, gone bankrupt, been bought out, or changed hands and countries several times over. MAC PARA is the only one of that generation to have gone through none of it: no bankruptcy, no takeover, no change of ownership. More than thirty years of continuity — which means something very concrete for a pilot: support that never stops, parts that stay available, and accumulated experience that was never lost along the way.
Still led by its founder — who still designs the wings
Petr Recek founded MAC PARA in 1993. He still runs it, and he is still its chief designer. A design engineer trained at Brno University of Technology and a member of the Czech national paragliding team, he draws the wings you will find here himself. That has become rare in this industry, and it shows: technical decisions pass through no filter.
Its own production facility, in Europe
While almost the entire industry has handed manufacturing over to workshops in Asia, MAC PARA has kept its own: the wings are cut and assembled in the company's own production facility in the Czech Republic, a few steps from the design office. Designer, workshop and prototype under one roof is the shortest path from an idea to a test flight — and the best guarantee of quality that does not drift from one production run to the next.
